Architectural/Engineering Technologist – Grads welcome (move to Williams Lake, BC required)

Suited for an Engineering Technologist with a diploma (not an engineer with a Bachelor’s or Master’s)

This full-time, permanent (not contract) career opportunity requires relocation to Williams Lake, BC. Some relocation assistance is offered.

The position is suited for an Architectural / Engineering Technologist from a 2-year diploma program which encompasses building, civil and mechanical technologies (not suited for an engineer with a Bachelor’s or Master’s hoping to work toward their PEng).

As the ideal candidate you are an Engineering Technologist with a diploma from a program where your studies also included some courses on beam structure and stress analysis, and you have an interest in a career doing design work in the manufacturing/pre-fab side of wood frame construction.  This role focuses on the design of roof trusses and floor systems for wood frame construction using MiTek (experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks considered an asset)

As the ideal candidate you are an Engineering Technologist (with a diploma not a degree) interested in the manufacturing side of construction where you will take the architectural/engineering drawings and make sure what is being manufactured meets the design specifications for the specific wood frame construction project.

• Are legally authorized to work in Canada for any employer (e.g. Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status)
• Have an Engineering Technologist Diploma in structural, civil, or mechanical engineering
• Have a driver’s license and reliable vehicle (Required)
• Are able to travel, on occasion
• Are proficient in the English language (oral and written)
• Are comfortable working on a computer and learning new software programs e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MiTek

Salary range: $60K-$85K / year
