Heavy Duty Mechanic – Red Seal (relocation to Southern B.C. req’d)

This full-time, permanent career opportunity is based in the Similkameen Valley in southern B.C.   Relocation is required and assistance is being offered (this is not a fly in fly out or camp position).  As the ideal candidate you are a Red Seal HD Mechanic, experienced in the mining industry and able to perform mechanical preventative maintenance and repairs in the shop and field locations.  

How can you stand out?  Well, if You…

• Are a Journeyman HD Mechanic with mining experience, a self-starter and able to work safely with minimal supervision
• Are able to perform mechanical preventative maintenance and repairs in the shop and field locations
• Have experience working on Komatsu 830E haul trucks, D375 dozers, Cat 16M graders, Komatsu PC8000/PC2000 shovels, and Atlas Copco 271/351 Pit Viper drills
• Are willing to work a shift position (e.g. 7x7rotation) that will provide 24/7 shift coverage (this is not a camp position)
• Are a team player who enjoys working with other trades in a team environment ….This role might be for you!

You…

• Are authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status)
• Have 2 or more years’ work experience as an HD Mechanic in the mining industry
• Welding ticket is considered an asset
• Must have a valid driver’s licence and vehicle
• Have a ‘Can Do’ attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
• Are proficient in the English language (oral and written)

Our client is a well known employer whose operation is a large scale open pit copper mine located in south central British Columbia. The mine has evolved into a mature and highly efficient operation with a long term mine plan and significant opportunity for mine life extension.  This position includes a competitive wage, a comprehensive benefit package including RRSP contributions, and tool allowance.  This is not a camp position.  Relocation is required (some assistance is offered) or travel and accommodation will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.

Hourly rate: $51
