Helpdesk - Tier 1 Support

Helpdesk Support – Tier 1 (relocate to Kelowna, BC req’d)

Our client is seeking a full-time, permanent Tier 1 Helpdesk Support Technician with a minimum of 3 years experience, in a Corporate IT environment, providing support to at least 250+ end users for workstations, laptops, phones, mobile devices and network infrastructure related issues.  The successful candidate will be based in Kelowna, B.C.  (this is not a remote position).  Some relocation assistance can be considered.

  • Have 3 years experience providing Tier 1 support to end users via phone, email and in person, for all onsite network and server/storage infrastructure related issues
  • Are experienced troubleshooting a variety of devices including desktops, laptops, VoIP phones, smartphones, mobile devices, and other peripherals
  • Are experienced with installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting a wide range of desktop hardware and software (Active Directory, Windows 10, Windows 11, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Office 2016, Visio, Adobe Suite, and various 3rd party and in-house applications).
  • Have experience configuring and troubleshooting legacy and newer workstations and laptops hardware (Motherboards, Hard Drives, Ram, Video Cards, etc.) and administering and repairing printer equipment; MFP, stand-alone printers, wide format printers…This role might be for you!

As the ideal candidate you possess exceptional customer service skills and have an excellent command of the English language (both written and oral).   You pride yourself on your excellent problem-solving skills and ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.

  • Must have Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency to obtain DND related security clearance; the position requires work on military network
  • Have Post-Secondary Education in a related field (i.e. networking, computer science, security, etc.)
  • Have a minimum 3 years of experience in Corporate IT or Helpdesk (required)
  • Are ITIL Foundations certified (considered an asset)
  • MCP/MCSA, A+, Network+ and/or Server+, or similar certification is preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Must be able to participate in on call rotation
  • Are able to occasionally travel, if required, including to a RCAF (Royal Canadian Airforce) support facility
