HR Generalist – Maternity Leave Coverage (12-18 months)

Are you based in the Vernon/Armstrong B.C. area or already in the process of moving to the area, by early January, 2022?

Are you a Human Resources Generalist with a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience providing HR support to a busy manufacturing operation of up to 200 employees (some union experience considered an asset)?  

Are you a quick learner who enjoys taking on a challenge and seeing it through to completion?

Are you a multi-tasker with excellent time management and computer skills, committed to providing top notch support to both the employees and leadership team?

How can you stand out?  Well, if You…

  • Have a minimum of 4 to 5 years HR Generalist experience where you have been responsible for, but not limited to; recruiting, new hire orientation, coordinating and creating workforce plans, running reports, tracking HR metrics including headcount reports, performance reviews, turnover, time to fill, disciplinary history, etc., while strategizing methods to reduce gaps
  • Have strong communication skills (both written and oral) and a proven track record building and maintaining strong internal relationships with business leaders and HR Management
  • Are a proven Leader and not a Follower.  You are someone who thinks outside the box, is solutions orientated and can search out required resources, without being asked ….This role might be for you!

As the ideal candidate, you thrive in a busy environment and have a proven track record as a Human Resources Business Partner where you have been responsible for advising business leaders on labour relations issues; providing advice and guidance for resolution of issues, ensuring adherence to best practice, legislation, collective agreement and company policies.


  • Are legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status required)
  • Hold a degree or diploma in business (commerce, administration, or management) with human resources courses. CPHR designation considered an asset
  • Have a very adaptive personality and work style and thrive in an environment with interesting work and a lot of variety
  • Have strong computer skills (MS Office) and experience working with online and internal systems for applicant management and data management (these are Must Have skills)
  • Are a strong communicator and proficient in the English language (oral and written)
