Avionics Project Engineer – (move to Okanagan B.C. required)

This exciting, permanent, full-time career opportunity is based in the Okanagan Region of British Columbia, andtherefore requires relocation to the area

The hiring team is seeking an Avionics Engineer with at least 2 to 3 years of related hands-on aviation industry working experience.   MS Project experience and/or Project Management training and/or PMP designation considered an asset.

Reporting to the Avionics Engineering Supervisor, you will lead small interdisciplinary teams to the successful (Safe/Airworthy, on-time, & on-budget) completion of avionics or electrical focused modifications while working under the general guidance of senior engineers.

The company delivers innovative aircraft solutions for corporate, commercial and military customers, worldwide, specializing in a wide range of aviation services including maintenance and modifications, air cargo operations, military pilot training and aircraft leasing. 

  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years experience as an Avionics Project Engineer where you were responsible for aspects of the avionics modification projects (project management, design, certification, etc.) while also supporting the resolution of issues pertaining to design data interpretation and design deviations
  • Have avionics experience which includes broad ranging integration (e.g. entire aircraft, work on avionics radio test equipment, conducting FMEA, etc. vs. micro-level components)
  • Are familiar with engineering and regulatory procedures and processes for the development and approval of avionics designs…This role might be for you!

As the ideal candidate you are an experienced Avionics Project Engineer with broad ranging integration experience (e.g. substantiation projects, entire aircraft, work on avionics radio test equipment, conducting FMEA, etc. versus micro-level components).  AutoCAD, MS Project experience and/or Project Management training and/or PMP designation are considered an asset. 

  • Are legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status required)
  • Have an Aerospace Engineering degree with a specialty in Avionics (Electrical Engineering degree may be considered for a candidate with 3 or more years of avionics working experience).  
  • Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years experience, including but not limited to:
    • Designing electrical and avionics system installations and modifications
    • Developing design documents for demonstrating compliance to the appropriate regulations
    • Developing test procedures which ensure proper operation of equipment and demonstrate compliance to the appropriate regulations
    • Liaising with Transport Canada for design approval (previous Transport Canada delegation considered an asset)
    • Excellent skills with MS Office and Project Management (required)
    • CAD experience, considered an asset

Salary Range: $84,000 to $105,000 annually
